2022 & 2023 SJR Readers' Choice award for Best DietitianAmanda Figge, MS, RD, CSSD, LDN, has been a part of the Dietetics and Nutrition team at Springfield Clinic since its inception in May 2012. As an enthusiast for food, sports and science, Amanda chose a career as a dietitian to help individuals achieve their best health. In addition to working with the clinical population, Amanda also works closely with local athletes and sports teams to optimize sport performance.  “Eating well means different things to different people. Food influences the way our body feels, functions and thrives,” says Amanda. “I love tailoring nutrition recommendations to help my patients reach their goals. With proper nutrition guidance, patients can reduce inflammation, lose weight, manage chronic conditions like autoimmune diseases, diabetes or heart disease, balance hormones and improve sport performance.” Growing up just outside of Springfield, Springfield Clinic has always been Amanda’s home for health care. She takes great pride in being able to give back to the community she was raised in.Amanda has more than 13 years of experience in dietetics and nutrition. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and her Master of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences: Dietetics and Nutrition from Illinois State University in Normal, IL. In her free time, Amanda loves spending time with family, hiking, lifting weights, going to Chicago Cubs baseball games and cooking.
